The Warg's Pups
Transcript
The halls of Citadel Alterein echo with the lingering remnants of battle—the scent of blood and scorched fur, the faint crackle of dissipating magic, the stillness left in the wake of fallen foes. The graveshells lie broken in the ruined Court of the Nail, their hardened shells split like shattered tombstones, their slinking, undead menace silenced forever. Nearby, the warg’s corpse grows cold, its yellow eyes now empty, the savage cunning that once lurked behind them snuffed out like a dying ember.
But not all within the ruin have been left to the dead.
In the shadows of the Overflow Galley, three pairs of small, watchful eyes peer out, their world forever changed. The warg pups, left behind by their fallen sire, huddle together, their young minds unable to comprehend what has been lost—only that the great beast that once loomed over them will not return.
There is no more time for mourning.
The ruin remains infested. Darkened halls stretch before you, their depths still home to lurking dangers—beasts, remnants of the Cinderclaws, and worse things yet unseen. The fortress has not yielded fully, not yet.
With weapons cleaned and spells prepared, you press forward. Every creaking floorboard, every distant scuff of movement in the gloom, is a reminder that the work is not yet done.
Whatever still waits in these corridors, you will face it.
And by the time you leave, Citadel Alterein will belong to the living once more.
